Children's Advocacy Centers were established in an effort to enhance the sensitivity and responsiveness of our criminal and civil justice systems, thereby minimizing the impact of the trauma, providing vital medical and mental health services for these children and their families and facilitating the prosecution of perpetrators.

The Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) of Anderson and Cherokee Counties coordinates the efforts of a multidisciplinary team of professionals consisting of law enforcement investigators, prosecutors, child protective service workers, and medical and mental health professionals who collaborate to:
o coordinate investigations;
o limit, when possible, the number of times each child is interviewed;
o provide comfortable, child-friendly settings for interviews;
o reduce the child victim's travel to investigative agencies; and
o coordinate medical & mental health services.

Each child who is interviewed at the CAC is given a teddy bear to take home.

o We need you to donate a new stuffed teddy bear.
o You may want to lead your church, company, civic club or other organization in conducting teddy bear drives.
o Please call the CAC for other volunteer opportunities or to make tax-deductible cash contributions.
