Job description

  • SUMMARY: The Crisis Center of Anderson and Cherokee Counties provides comprehensive services to child and adult victims of abuse and their non-offending caregivers in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) made up of Child Protective Investigations, Law Enforcement, and the District Attorney’s Office. Working within this team environment, the therapist provides individual and group therapy to victims of abuse and their protective caregivers.
  • Experience:Prior relevant experience as a practicing mental health professional with experience working with individuals with crisis or abused children. Use of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy preferred Knowledge Requirements: High level of written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, computer skills, and collaborative capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft, Word, Excel and Outlook Experience in use of Telehealth technologies.

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide developmentally appropriate assessment and therapeutic treatment services to child and adult abuse victims and protective caregivers Provide individual, group, and family therapy and maintain orderly and accurate case files (both written and electronic) including treatment plans, assessments, progress reports, progress notes, and termination summaries · Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Attend trainings and conferences as required Maintain positive, professional relationships with all center staff, volunteers, and MDT members
  • Maintain cross-cultural awareness in the performance of all responsibilities 
  • Education: Master’s degree in counseling, social work or related field.
  • A professional license to practice independently as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker or provisional license as an LPC-Associate, LMFT- Associate, or LMSW Previous experience in play therapy and/or therapy with child and adult clients of abuse and trauma preferred.
  • Training (licenses and certifications): Maintain current licensure and/or certification Maintain good standing with the appropriate state licensing board and group membership affiliations.
